Sanjay Gandhi Polytechnic started Diploma in Metallurgy course in the year 2006. Being the first private polytechnic to start Metallurgy course, we have a niche above all the other institutes. With an intake of 120, and being situated in the steel city of Karnataka, we provide maximum job opportunities to the diploma aspirants of this district. Department of Metallurgy has well experienced faculty who provide detailed in-depth knowledge in fields of physical metallurgy, extractive metallurgy, mechanical metallurgy, powder metallurgy, non Ferrous metallurgy, materials degradation etc. Our institute provides state of the art laboratories & facilities which helps students to attain detailed technical knowledge.

The metallurgical profession is extremely diverse, and it offers a wide variety of career opportunities for young people with good placements who have an interest in technology, science and engineering. Metallurgical engineers are employed in every industry and enterprise that produces, buys, sells refines or manufactures metals or metallic products.

Industries such as JSW, Kirloskar, Hospet steels etc. have been consistently conducting campus placement drives in our institute for the past 8 years and hiring approximately 80 students exclusively from DMT branch every year.
